ASCIT Board of Directors Meeting – Minutes

Call to order: 12:17 Funding:
- Rickets House XBox 360 stolen during ASCIT party. Request ASCIT fund half the cost of replacement. Reasonable precautions taken (XBox locked). Propose $175 funding. VOTE: Approved (6-0-0)
- Fixing DDR machine cost $831 instead of $750 because machine was of foreign manufacture. Propose funding difference. VOTE: Approved (5-0-1)
- ASCIT previously supported Yuri's Night, a party in downtown LA celebrating the space program. BOD willing to spend $750 to subsidy $10 on $20 tickets and give free tickets to drivers to encourage carpooling. Will put up a donut survey to gauge interest. Propose BoD support for Yuri's Night. Vote: Approved (5-0-2) Prefrosh Weekend Announcements:
- BOD Chill Out is tomorrow afternoon (2 – 4). Sign up and skip class if you can.
- BOD Hangout is this Friday (10-1130)
- Prefrosh handbooks are printed. .
- Club Fair is moving along and will be ready by Saturday.
- Donuts are Saturday at around 10. Need to check if donuts were ordered and when they need to be picked up. Angela will acquire orange juice and milk at around 930
- Hand out extra little t's to arriving prefrosh
Miscellaneous:
- Second Life. Alumni contacted Zac about building a Caltech presence in Second Life. Does not want funding but wants Bod to help spread the word.
- Zub meeting with the alumni fund. Will request support for ASCIT formal.
- BoD needs to advertise more for student faculty lunches. Will will talk to ARC reps. Issue will be addressed again later.
- Need to place the ASCIT copier in a more public place.
