ASCIT Board of Directors Meeting – Minutes
Officers Present: Caleb Ng, Zachary Higbee, Christopher Watson, Tzong-Lian 'Will' Tsay, Ekta Bhojwani, Joel Nikolaus, Angela Zah, Matt Czubakowski, Michelle Jiang

Call to order: 11:05
Funding:
- Nathan requests $1000 funding for the Caltech Jazz Festival. Most of the funding will go towards the hiring of Elliot Deutsch. Proposed for full funding. VOTE: Approved (7-0-1)
- Zac proposes purchasing a backup hard drive for the BOC files. Propose to give full funding from the BOC budget. VOTE: Approved (7-0-1).
- Ruddock requests multi-house funding for a paintball event. BoD generally agrees that the event did not live up to the spirit of a multi-house event. Propose funding. VOTE: Rejected (0-6-2)
- Approval of the budget. Propose to approve the budget. VOTE: Approved (8-0-0)
Announcements:
- The student experience conference considered a success. The ARC reps will be organizing further discussions within each of the houses and each of the divisions during third term.
- The BoD discusses creating an online ARC feedback form. There is general support for the idea, but Chris suggests that it needs something to make it distinctive, possibly something such as a live online chat.
- Donut machine is being discarded.
- The pre-frosh weekend pamphlet needs to be completed before Spring Break. All chairs should submit a 500 word statement to Caleb within the week.
- Daryl reports that the construction in the SAC is as completed as it will ever be. Furniture should be moving in within a month. The key office is also behind.
- Caleb questions whether dinner rotation is a success. The point is to try to get to know al of the various people. It needs to be better planned in the future.
IHC Report:
- Dvin is the new IHC secretary.
- The IHC is meeting with Housing on Monday to discuss the issue of summer storage.
ARC Report:
- There will be interviews for ARC Secretary and ARC Representatives at Large.
- Due to the high demand for the T-Shirts, ARC is considering selling them at no-profit to students.
- Extra little t’s are in Ruddock
Social Report:
- End of Term Party on Wednesday in Ricketts.
- Try to meet the pre-frosh on the Thursday of pre-frosh weekend.
- ASCIT social hour will be on Friday.
- Various campus sources have backed much of the costs for the carnival.
- The bill for formal will cost $22k for the total and around $25k-26k for the total cost.
- A social hour with the GSC.
Secretary Report:
- Please send pictures. A camera will be brought on Wednesday,
- Joel will report to the BoD about club funding meeting on Wednesday’s meeting and will contact clubs about club fair.
Miscellaneous:
- Pasadena has space for the Ice Rink, but it is in danger of losing the support of the city. There is a meeting tomorrow at Pasadena City Hal at 6:30 and Craig requests BoD representation.
- Dark Matter requested publicity, but directory email already sent out.
