About
One of the most helpful things that clubs and organizations can do to achieve continuity in the face of changing leadership is to document the practicalities of, and the resources used in planning past events. Unfortunately, student leaders and event planners are not encouraged to do so. The Caltech Club Resource Handbook was thus written especially to assist new leaders by documenting the types of arrangements necessary to start a club or hold an event. It also attempts to offer a comprehensive listing of the campus resources and contacts that are often used for these purposes.
Contact Information Format
Caltech telephone numbers are given as extensions, e.g. x1234. To dial these numbers from off-campus, use prefix 395-. The Pasadena area code is (626).
Email addresses within the campus are given as username@hostname, e.g (tanaka@its). To send email to these addresses from a non-Caltech email account, affix the (caltech.edu) domain.
Similarly, mailing addresses within the campus are given as hyphenated mail code (MC) numbers, e.g. MC 123-45. The second number identifies the building, and the first nunmber refers to the room number of that building's mailroom. Only the recipient name and mail code are needed for addressing intercampus mail.
