Payment and Cost
ASCIT Formal costs $35 for ASCIT members, and $40 for non-member guests. Payment by UID is strongly preferred. Cash or check payments are also acceptable and can be made in person to Angela Zah, the ASCIT Treasurer (treas@donut.caltech.edu, Lloyd 133). Your name will be on the guest list at the event, so you will not need tickets. Payment can be made at the door, but we strongly encourage you to register ahead of time so we have an accurate guest count for catering.
Transportation via Coach
This year there will be a free coach service between Caltech and the Ritz.
Coaches will run between 8 pm and 2 am. If you would like to utilize this
service, you must register on Donut ahead of time. We will try to
accommodate your preferred times of departure from Caltech and the Ritz, but
this may not always be possible. If you would like to ride with specific
people in your coach, please make sure they register for the same coach.
Coaches to the Ritz: 8:15 (A), 9:00 (B), 9:45 (C), 10:30 (D), 11:15 (E)
Coaches to Caltech: 12:00 (1), 12:45 (2), 1:30 (3), 2:15 (4)
Food and Drink
Just like last year, there will be no dinner at Formal, because a large, catered dinner is an over-priced and under-cooked waste of your money. However, there will be appetizers served starting at 8 pm and available throughout the night. For the thirsty among you, there will be cash bars. The bars will be carding, so please bring ID. You will also need money if you would like to purchase drinks from the bar. There will also be free soft drinks, juice, lemonade, and water available for everyone.
Music
This year, we will have a DJ in the main ballroom all evening long (you can submit music requests). Due to popular demand, there will be a live jazz band performing all evening in the adjoining ballroom. So make sure you arrive early to take advantage of both dance floors.
